Metric Mold co-founder Rick Allison has retired after 38 years of leading the company as a producer of high quality precision parts for the automotive industry.
Since 1983 Rick remained deeply devoted to a company he guided through three expansions before growing to a second Windsor location. During that time, he led the company through many technological changes, including the introduction of CNC machining, CAD/CAM, and ISO 9001 certification.
Rick was committed to building Metric to its current position as a leader in the design and manufacturing of plastic injection molds in both Canada and the United States. He established a broad customer base with contracts around the globe.
Over the years Metric Mold has won numerous quality and performance awards for its design and manufacturing capabilities. The company has also received many letters of appreciation for service beyond the call of duty.
Described by peers as the first to arrive and the last to leave, Rick spent many long hours working with team members and organizations to position the company as a primary source for the design and manufacturing of plastic injection molds.
As part of his succession plan, Rick sold Metric Mold to an experienced mold industry group that is affiliated with Rova Machining and Advanced EDM of Windsor. His son Ryan, along with the entire Metric Mold team stayed with the company after the acquisition.
